Children listened to a talk on child protection awareness and they were given a goodie bag. Children were entertained by our mascots who taught them how to protect themselves and how to report abuse. We Care Campaign We are excited about our We Care initiative. Our aim is to make a difference to the children within our community, by spreading our love and care. Childline KZN has developed age appropriate therapeutic programmes which are utilized to facilitate disclosure and the healing process for children of abuse. The Crisisline was founded in 1986 as a result of the escalating increase in the incidence of child abuse cases. Hence it became essential for the public to have access to a helpline to advice, support and report cases of abuse. The organisation has since 1986, expanded its mandate to ensure holistic services to children, to not only respond, but heal, and prevent child abuse. Childline can assist children who have been abused to recover from their trauma. Do what you can to help them feel better, trust them, listen to them, allow them to make decisions and choices according to their age and maturity. Exhibition & Workshops Strategy Raising awareness of Childline KZN services by highlighting the provincial crisis helpline and increasing awareness of information around child laws. As a volunteer you can also learn new skills, boost your CV, build your confidence, meet new people and most importantly make a valuable difference to children.
