From humble beginnings, Tower City Trading (TCT) was founded on 1st June 1996. StrategyTCT believes in Broad Base Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE). We enjoy a highly flexible, creative leadership which ensures continuous generations and developments. Our profit is marginal as bulk of the sales revenue has been cast into the earnings and benefits of our staff, however we remain self sufficient and able to achieve most of the objectives we set ourselves for the growth of the business and ourselves. We are very mindful that our existence has implications on the families of those we employ, probably 200 people in South Africa. The company has grown to employ 20 permanent and 30 casual staff nationally. Interestingly the company started off with no funding and zero asset base. Brite Idea is a BBBEE level 1 company, that focused on the development and empowerment of its staff years before affirmative action became a business strategy. Over the years we have advanced many black staff to positions of seniority and responsibility. Our long term goal is to offer them the opportunity to run their own franchise thus giving their families long term financial security.
