If there was a means to keep straps from sliding down upper arm while loading, that would be helpful. Having to go around and adjust strap up the support arm is a challenge once the kayak is on the rack. Bout a new outback which has integrated crossbars built in. And they are very easy to load, because you can slide the kayak up on the outer sloped surface, and lay it flat in the carrier. Then you can change your grip and rotate it into position. It would have been nice if there was a loop at the top of the JayLow, to keep the strap there while you are loading the kayaks. Once the kayaks are up there, if the strap has slipped down, as it is prone to do, it is a chore to get it back up top, because the kayak is using against the upright. The Thule carriers had a little slot to keep the strap in place at the top. The only thing holding me off from the bowdown was a few complaints of them sometimes spinning.
