What you should know about Toa
TOA’s corporate creed is, “We sell Sound, not Just Equipment”.
TOA is the first supplier in South Africa approved by a fully accredited testing body.
TOA Electronics Europe GMBH is responsible for the sales and distribution of TOA products throughout mainland Europe and the Middle East.
The TOA Corporation was founded in 1934 in Kobe, Japan, and has had a leading effect upon the development of the acoustic and communication technology.
As part of a major building and mechanical revamp, various South African prisons have been provided with a TOA VS-900 intercom system and public address system. The system allows prison officials to communicate with more than 120 substations positioned in cells, courtyards and passages. Ideal for applications with multiple sub stations calling in to one or more master stations, the VS-900 has a wide range of standard and software programmable features, including comprehensive Call-Forwarding to allow system operators freedom of movement and most importantly, to ensure that no calls go unanswered. Other features include telephone system integration, paging and external source distribution, event logging, and recording outputs. The VS-900 scalable architecture allows the most cost effective configuration for each application with easy expansion as the size of the facility grows. Sub-stations include Economy, Indoor, Outdoor, and Panic models, each with heavy-duty plate, call switch and optional LED/relay control. Trantec, a company producing high quality wireless microphone sets, is a perfect complement to a wide range of devices and solutions offered by TOA Electronics. Vehicle manufacturer Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) will invest more than R1,5-billion in the local production of a new generation pick-up, as well as the Puma diesel engine. The investment will kick off in 2009, and will be split between the company's vehicle assembly plant in Silverton, Pretoria, and engine facility in Struandale, Port Elizabeth. The TOA VX-2000 Integrated Voice Evacuation System (covered by a 5 Year Warranty), originally built to comply with EN60849:2005 (adopted by SA as SANS60849) is ideal for this type of application where there are multiple zones and each floor is to be treated as an independent zone which is capable of having its own dedicated microphone for the Fire Marshall controlling that floor. It is also possible to utilize the system for BGM (Background Music) as each zone is able to have its own music source and volume levels or the same source can be routed to specific zones, a group of zones or all zones). White noise too, can be integrated with the system.
