Our roots are firmly planted in South African soil. When Rhed Oliv opened its doors in 1997, our primary focus was to bring our farming clients best of breed insurance products. Over the years we have steadily increased our portfolio and today Rhed Oliv boasts a wide range of commercial and personal lines insurance solutions for a growing client base. It is significant to note that our growth has been entirely organic. Our clients continue to refer us to their associates, friends and family and we have never found it necessary to advertise our services in the usual manner. The Rhed Oliv team is constantly innovating solutions for a rapidly changing environment. Due to the fact that we have agencies with a number of different underwriters and administrators, we are able to offer our clients a variety of insurers to choose from on their personal insurance. Insurers often ask us why we don’t have all our personal policies with one insurer, in keeping with market trends, as this would be easier to manage. Although insurance can be traced back almost to the first time ships carried cargo, insurance as we know it really began in a coffee shop in London in Lloyd’s Coffee Shop had earned a reputation as being the spot where mariners could pick up reliable shipping information.
