The objective of starting the business was to capitalize on the BEE space provided in the Financial Services industry; other strategic investment opportunities; and to establish NESS as the leader in product development and administration of quality and value-priced insurance products for the lower income markets in South Africa. Established Life Insurance Companies have an increasing interest in the lower income markets and have in the past acquired smaller companies that had focused on these markets. It is however proven to be a challenge to consolidate the administration systems to handle both the low-level premium business and high-end premium business. NESS recognized this challenge and offers an administration solution to both the clients of the Insurance companies as well as the Insurance companies. Pet is a founder member of NESS and is the Chairman of NE Holdings, the majority shareholder in NESS. Prior to taking an executive role in NESS Pet held a number of Senior executive positions in a wide range of industries and blue chip organizations including SFW now Distell, SAB Miller, Telkom SA, and Sizwe Medical Services. His most recent appointment was with Alcatel South Africa where he was responsible for establishing Channels to Market in the Southern and Eastern Africa Region. His experience includes HR Management, Sales and Marketing, Government and Regulatory Relations as well as Corporate Affairs. Pet’s really cut his teeth in Financial Services as CEO of Safrican Insurance Company where he led a remarkable turnaround, introducing new products and opening up new channels and increasing Premium Income by more than 60% in 3 years. Mbulelo is the founding Executive Director of NESS and CEO of NE Holdings the majority shareholder in NESS. Mbulelo is a seasoned financial services expert and prior to NESS, Mbulelo was the Executive Director responsible for Risk, Operations an Information Technology Services at Safrican Insurance Company, where he played a major role in the company turnaround. His skills are rooted in actuarial work encompassing valuations and product development. His experience also includes Regulatory Compliance as well as Governance. Mbulelo served as a non executive director on the Board of Pick It Up Johannesburg (Pty) Ltd where he served on a number of Board subcommittees. With over 13 years experience in management consulting, Customer service management and business process re-engineering, played an integral part in the pioneering work required for comprehensive IT solutions for SME sector in a leading Transport company. A strong planning, analysis and implementation background in the Petroleum Industry and Port operations environment. A transformation strategist with a strong implementation bias. Career in IT in High Tech Companies, Oil Companies and Transport and Logistics. Has been at the forefront of driving operational efficiency, transformation and business re-engineering projects. General Management and Technical expertise make coaching and mentoring a key strength. of Fort Hare obtaining a Bsc majoring in Computer Science and an MBA from Michigan, U.SA Has occupied various positions from application/software development, business analysis, project management, information architecture, executive management and CEO.
