Reasonable rates and reasonable time frame 3-4 weeks depending on subject. Studied at the PE Technikon from 1979-1981 for her Diploma in Fine Art and majored in Painting. In 1982 received The Higher National Diploma in Fine Art and her Dissertation was Romanticism in Landscape Painting. Janet was the first student to receive this Diploma and the first woman to receive this Diploma at the tender age of 22 years old. She studied under Hillary Graham, Neil Rodger, Alexander Podlushac, Phil Kolbe, Colin MacDonald, Hilton Nel who had a influence in her early work but most of the influence comes form her Oriental roots as Janet is a Chinese South African. Her works are scattered throughout the globe in Canada, United States, London, Germany, Australia and different cities in South Africa. Janet passion and dream to paint again was ignited when she was asked to paint a banner for her Church Dance Group. This was quite a compositional challenge to capture all the animals and the people in one painting as the dogs were great Danes. The painting was in their memory for all the happy memories that they shared. These dogs were born in Malaysia and traveled all around the world in the countries that Henk Weijers worked. Her face is more beautiful, her necklace and jewellery is painted in gold, the flowers were changed to roses and the colour of the tablecloth was changed. Commissioned by Gary Williams to paint a portrait of his late brother Bradly who passed on at the tender age of 19 in a car accident. A difficult portrait with images from very old photographs. Painted from a very old crumpled ID photograph, and a pic of her daughter.
