History of the Jamiatul Ulama formerly Natal.
Past Presidents of the Jamiatul Ulama have been.
Why is the udhiyah/qurbani of one sheep not sufficient for the obligation of an entire family? The primary objective was the preservation, protection and propagation of true and pristine Islam. It was indeed a momentous occasion when our senior founder members of the Jamiat met to establish the organization which was to become the official body of religious, educational and other affairs of the Muslim Community of KwaZulu-Natal. Welfare Relief to those undergoing difficulty with food, rentals, lights and water etc. Co-ordination of the Hilaal sighting of the moon and notifying Ulama/Imaams via sms on the eve of every Islamicmonth. Allocation of scholarships and bursaries for Islamic and secular Education/Skills. Supervision and Co ordination of Eidgah in various areas in Durban and surrounding areas. Letters to various organization, media whenever necessary for the cause of the Deen. Dua to read when laying the Qurbaani animal down for slaughtering. There are laws that regulate every phase of a Muslim’s life. The laws that determine the distribution of one’s estate have also been stipulated and great emphasis has been laid on adhering to them. In Islam, it is fardh (obligatory) upon every Muslim to write up a will to ensure that one’s estate is divided according to the Islamic Law. It is a grave sin and an injustice not leave a will or to to leave an un-Islamic will. This especially applies to Muslims who reside in countries where the Islamic laws of Inheritance are not the law of the land. In the situation where a woman can no longer remain in the marriage of her husband and all attempts to save the marriage have failed, then the ideal solution would be for her to obtain a divorce from the husband. With the grace of Almighty Allah, the Jamiat KZN continues to assist the poor and needy in our Local community.
