Indigo Freight was established in 2005 to fill a gap in service levels between shipping lines, clearing & forwarding agents and actual shippers.

Indigo Freight was established in 2007 to fill what was felt to be a much needed gap in the industry pertaining to service levels. It was felt that communication between shipping lines, clearing & forwarding agents and actual shippers was not very good and logistics can be simplified. Our initial primary function was to offer our clients the best possible logistics solutions, with service through efficient communication and not just on price for their Sea and Road freight cargo movements and nothing has changed! With International packing skills acquired in England during the 90's, it made sense for the Director of Indigo Freight to amalgamate these skills with our commercial knowledge in the shipping and logistics industry. Our International Packing & Wrapping meet the highest standard and we are proud to say that we have NEVER had one claim against us to date. We have moved so many families from their homes locally (in and around Durban), into their new local or international homes. Relocating is very high on the stress list but fear not, we are here to assist you all the way. Our aim is to make your move as stress free as possible and work with as much flexibility as possible to suit you. We are one of only a hand full of shipping companies in South Africa that handle commercial cargo but also have the confidence to handle household & personal effects safely and we love it. Household & Personal Effects handling is a specialised field on its own as there are important techniques used for packing and wrapping goods safely in order to get them to the intended destination in tact. There are rules and regulations that apply to commercial shipping and their are rules that apply to personal effects shipments. Both can go smoothly with the relevant procedures adhered to but household effects takes so much more care in handling. We pretty much insist on viewing all items for shipping, this is in order that we can measure everything to obtain the cubic meter volume and note on what materials we will require to execute your move safely. We will complete your estimate once we have the estimated volume, materials required and have obtained all the other specific information from you pertaining to your relocation.
