The company then went on to gain international recognition for providing extremely durable and resistant synthetic resin systems for corrosion and abrasion protection in the industrial environments. Flowcrete South Africa has 2 manufacturing facilities in Durban and Johannesburg with 3 sales offices in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Flowcrete South Africa expanded in the Western Cape in 2013 to open a warehouse facility as well. Flowcrete South Africa has been exporting into Kenya since 2009 and decided to setup a n official business in the region to better service the East African Community. However the history of this product begins in the UK where it was invented by British born Peter Gibbon and his daughter Dawn. They developed a special type of flooring that would stop sugar eating into the floors of a Confectionery Production plant, this development then turned into Flowcrete that same year and started out in a small manufacturing unit located in the heart of Cheshire. In 1984 they secured their first major project for NATO and their success further cemented a few years later when awarded their first Department of Trade & Industry award for innovation. In the early 90's Flowcrete launched its polyurethane flooring systems to the food and beverage industry promoting its waterproof car park deck coating and developed its water based flooring technologies, securing a patent for its deep penetrating hardening system. And so the business continues to grow and develop across the globe.
