Durban Drummers Team Build: Communication Exercise: Rhythmic Drum patterning activities that are geared towards improving communication skills through call & response rhythms, timing & listening exercises. When participants in our sessions discover that collectively they are able to produce a great sounding group rhythm without any prior musical training or background, simply by listening to one another, focusing on their part in the group rhythm and connecting with their colleagues and their respective rhythms, they can experience the positive benefits of cohesive teamwork! Rhythm goes very deep at instinctive level too, and has become increasingly an antidote for me to excess infomation. Losing myself in playing a hand drum gives me a route to shedding all the clutterings and clammerings of a world over-rich with media, and finding a more wholesome space. Drumming is one of humanity’s universal traditions.
